PROVIDE is a new shop opening at the Custard Factory in September 2012. We are committed to showcasing independent clothing and magazines as well as books and artwork that will inform and inspire.
To coincide with our opening party on September 29 we are producing a free newspaper filled with art, design and writing to celebrate and promote what is happening in Digbeth. We are currently looking for contributions of:
• fine art
• illustrations
• interviews
• opinons
• photography (individual images and series)
• poetry
• prose
• poster design
• street art
Your submission doesn’t have to be Digbeth-themed, and it doesn’t have to be new work; if you have something to share, we want to see it.
Submissions should be sent to provideshopltd@gmail.com no later than 10pm on Wednesday, 1 August 2012. Any work received after this deadline will be considered for issue two of the PROVIDE paper.
Written work should be no more than 1,500 words (less is fine, too) and attached to your email as a plain text file. Any accompanying images should meet the requirements below.
Images should be prepared as follows:

Please ensure all text is embedded/outlined
All images should be between 210mm x 297mm and 578mm x 380mm
Please use wetransfer.com to send any files larger than 10MB.
PROVIDE’s goal is first and foremost to support independent creativity. You will retain the copyright to all your work at all times and all work will be credited in the paper. Everyone who submits work will receive a printed copy of the newspaper, whether or not their submission is included.
